Hey guys, so I'm actually using this PC:
*I5 8600K
*GIGABYTE B360 AORUS GAMING 3
*2x8GB HyperX Fury
*1x 240SSD and 1x 960SSD
*MSI GTX 1080

My PSU is an EVGA 600B 80+, will I get any problems with the power consumption if I change my GPU for a RTX 3070 (I dont have any specific brand/model in mind but I guess they're all similar in consumption?)
Also, there shouldn't be any problems with the motherboard and the RTX 3070 right?

Thx in advance :)

Solution
It's a bit below specs for an RTX 3070. Plus it's a lower quality PSU. You might be pushing it. If it was I really high quality model. I wouldn't be as concerned.

I'd get something like a Seasonic Focus or Corsair RMx line of PSU. In the 750w or higher range.

Thanks for all the replies! It looks like i'll have to buy a new PSU for extra safety. I'm looking at some PSUs rn, the prices are somewhat similar where I live:
Thermaltake Technology Smart BX1 Series SPD-750AH2NKB 750W black 100V/240V
Giga-Byte Technology GP-P750GM 750W negra 100V/240V

Is any of these 2 a good choice for my PC w/ the new GPU?

Thermaltake smart bx1 is barely an upgrade.

Gigabyte gm psus are either dead on arrival or blow up (literally) shortly thereafter. Go read some newegg reviews or this: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/gigabyte-gp-p750gm-750-w/10.html
Damn didn't know about all that gigabyte PSU explosive situation, thx for the heads up. I was also looking at a COOLER MASTER 750W 80+ GOLD FULL MODULAR (MPY-7501-AFAAG) and a Seasonic 750W FOCUS GM-750 80+ PLUS GOLD (for like 25% more than the Cooler Master). Will any of these 2 work? and if they do, should I just pay the extra % to get the Seasonic?

Thanks for the data! that PSU you're using is better than the Cooler Master I listed above right? (MPY-7501-AFAAG)

Yes the one you mentioned are 750w Gold modular and the Cooler master one is 850w Gold modular so that's definitely better.
Also not to mention that Cooler Master RTX 3090 can handle the power hungry RTX 3090.
Im attaching the link of Toms Hardware review regarding this PSU and you can decide for yourself

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cooler-master-v850-gold-v2-power-supply-review

How come a PSU which can handle RTX 3090 and not be high quality ?
it's literally fully modular gold what else do you want in a PSU
For a 3090 it has to be a PSU with particular topology, voltage regulation within specs and enough wattage. That has not much to do with high quality.

Again, fully modulair and Gold rating has nothing to do with high quality.

MWE Gold is Cooler Masters' budget Gold line with low quality caps, fan etc. Cooler Master V-series is also Gold but much higher quality.

Agree with you because there are always better PSU's in the market but considering his budget this one is the best or he could go for a seasonic one as they are the top brand in terms of PSU

As I said, I don't really have much options to choose from where I live. Rounding up, the PSUs I could buy are:
*COOLER MASTER 750W 80+ GOLD FULL MODULAR (MPY-7501-AFAAG)
*750W Gigabyte P750GM 80 PLUS GOLD Modular
*THERMALTAKE 750W SMART BX1 80 PLUS BRONZE
*EVGA 750W GQ 80 Plus Gold Semi Modular

Which one should I go for? I wish I had a wider market to choose from but it is what it is D:
btw, no OC will be made, ever.

I am using the Cooler master one on RTX 3080 no issues as of now.

As the guy above mentioned that they have a bad repo of making PSU the Gigabyte one rest is upto you.
My take is to go for Cooler master one.
Other than you can do your research and happy gaming and best of luck in whatever you buy <3

I'll probably go for the CM one, thanks to you and everyone who helped me!

Also, kinda off-topic, I'm thinking in getting a new case, which one do you guys recommend me? (brands, specific models, etc)

I have been using thermaltake mt level 20 for this rig and if your weather where you live is moderate to cold then it's very good although i have to take the case off for summer tho.

I have seen a lot of praise for lian li O1 Dynamic with its airflow and low temps so you should check that out as well.
