Hey guys, so just wondering if my PSU is enough to give my CPU / GPU a DEC OC. (I'm very new to OCing).

Rig
PSU: Antec HCG 620W
GPU: MSI GTX 770 TF 4GB/OC
CPU: i5-4670k
MB: MSI Z87-GD65
RAM: 2x4gb Gskill.RipjawsX 2133mhz
HD: Seagate 2Tb
SSD: Samsung 128gb
Monitor: 1080p 60hz max. (this is what I'll be running games at)

As well as a nice cpu cooler, a couple fans that came with the case, a blu-ray drive, a couple usb slots etc.

So, would it be enough for a decent OC?

PSU is slightly over a month old, I can run games beautifully on max settings, I was more concerned about the 620W limit, I know that the GTX 770 takes up about 230 watts of power by itself, the i5-4670k another 85ish, plus all the other stuff I have, I was worried that 620W might not be enough to OC.

Really the only time you'd pull 230W from that card is if overclocked and running stressing programs - I personally would consider running GTX 770's in SLI with that - note: I said "consider". Something that may amaze you (I intend to post some numbers in the future) might be your computer's actual power draw from the wall (a Kill-A-Watt meter is great for that). It and your actual system power usage is usually far below what you are thinking
Example: My 2500k @ 4.6 GHz, 4x4GB 1600MHz ram, HD7950 overclocked, D5 water pump, 8 fans (three of them UltraKazes) all running 100% draws ~310W from the wall. My 660XP PSU being platinum certified is 92% efficient at 50% load so my system is actually using a little under 300W everything at max.

In MSI afterburner I see the card occasionally dip up to 99%-100% GPU when I'm playing AC4 or Tomb raider, would that be equivalent to it using 230W?

Welp..only one way to find out! 😀

overclock both and if you get a black screen and reboot under gpu load..You need a bigger PSU.
hey..at least it has OCP :)
