Hi, I got a new psu and an msi r9 290 for Christmas and was having problems with it (retuned it and am waiting for a new one) but was wondering if it could be my psu that I got. The psu I got is a Coolermaster G750M 750w psu 80+ bronze. Would it be able to power the msi r9 290 4gb gaming OC edition? Thanks. The guy on the phone said that my psu only meets the bare minimum but my friend has the same gpu, and a more powerful PC, yet his psu is only 600w? So surely it's not the psu? The psu works btw, am currently using my nvidia gtx 650. Thanks

Your card requires 31A on +12V rail, which can be provided by quality 550W PSUs. Mind you, *quality* PSUs, not one of the cheapo ones which usually can't even provide half of their rated power. Your PSU can most certainly drive that card without issues (it is rated at 62A on +12V rail).

BTW, could you please describe what kind of problems did you have?
