Is my PSU enough?

Hey guys, recently got a new GPU and wanted to know if my PSU would handle it. I didn't want to risk putting the GPU in because as far as I can tell my PSU won't be able to handle it and may damage other components, however, I wanted to know incase I'm wrong.

Here are my system specs:

Processor: AMD Phenom (tm) II x4 955 Processors 3.21 Ghz
4 GB Ram
Asus R9 290x GPU
250GB harddrive

Nothing is OC'd.

(I know my gpu will be bottlenecked, I have another processor on the way!)

Powersupply - coolermaster rs-550-pcar-e3 (550W)

For a pc with a 290X in it you need a power supply that can provide 33A on the 12V rail and 600W total.

please do not use that PSU. coolermaster eXtreme power plus are know to fail before supplying their "rated" wattage.
