For some reason my PC is restarting when playing games with no blue screen or anything. Literally just straight restarts. Is it that my PSU is failing? I have a Corsair CX750M And I really don't think it's the cause...

O my you have the cx750m. My friends failed 2 weeks ago and fried his pc after some googling quite a bit of people have this problem with this specific one. However what are your temps? Maybe it's just a temperature issue. Can you also post the rest of the system and the gpu and cpu temps please?

Specs: AMD Athlon X4 860K, GTX 970, 16GB DDR3, Asrock fm2a88m extreme4+
Temp: CPU is around 50C idle, and 65ishC while gaming. I know my processor is behind when it comes to my rig.

You have the older version of the power supply. This is know to be low quality.

I would recommend the Seasonic S12ii 620W Bronze for your system. Please don't ignore it just because it's 80+ Bronze and not Gold. These are simply efficiency ratings and do not reflect actual PSU quality.

The Seasonic S12ii Bronze and M12ii Bronze EVO Edition models are older designs so they can be had for cheap, but they still hold their own against the EVGA SuperNOVA G2 series and the Corsair RMx series. (both of which are 80+ Gold)

I never said that I liked the new ones that much either, but SR-71 Blackbird seems to think that they're of considerably higher quality.

The wattage ones 650 and below are more drastically changed. But I don't see anything making them low quality. Maybe mediocre but I don't know about low but it's subjective anyway.

Guys, what do I do? I mean this debate is great an all, but is my PSU DEFINITELY the problem? If so, what's the right one for me?

No, sorry

I apologize for derailing the thread.

As for whether or not it's definitely the problem... Even if it isn't the problem, it will cause problems in the future.

Do you have a device that can measure voltages? (like a multimeter)

I'm afraid I do not, sorry

You all out of ideas?

If this was my system the first thing I would look at replacing in your build is the PSU. If you had a FX-83XX processor with a low VRM count then I would suggest looking at that as well because those can be over heating and causing shutdowns but this is highly /extremely unlikely with your CPU, even more so if you are using an air cooler.

I wish I had a definite answer for you like it is definitely this particular component, but the first thing I would call into question is the power supply.
