Is my PSU good enough for a 280x or 7970 addition?

Hello everyone,
I was curious. I have a 750w power supply. Ive come into some money and want to crossfire the current 7970 I have with either a 280x or 7970. I have two questions:
First is just conformation that the 280x can be successfully cross fired with the 7970 and if there would be any benefit of using the same brand and type of card.
Secondly is 750w of power enough for a crossfire set up. Im concerned I may have to up my PSU as well.
My PC specs are as follows; AMD 8350, 8Gb Ram, 120gb SSD, 2 TB HDD, DVD/Wtire Drive, 6 120mm fans and of course the 7970 I currently have.
Hope you guys can clear this up for me! Thanks, Joe.M

Solution
500W would be enough for just about any single-GPU system and 750W should be enough for two GPUs.

The bigger question is QUALITY.

Some 700W PSUs cannot reliably deliver 300W while quality 500W PSUs can often reliably deliver 550-600W for several minutes at a time.

The 280x recommended PSU is 750w. If you are going to crossfire a card with a 280x, I don't think 750w would safely cut it. The 280x also requires 2 PCIE connectors. The R9 280-290s cards run very hot, you need make sure you buy brands that have adequate coolers ie,; XFX and Sapphire. The 8350, which I have, also produces a lot of heat, and the stock cooler in most cases cannot cut it. I have the hyper 212 evo for my 8350, it is 35 dollars: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099 I recommend that if you are going to put a 280x in there, things might get toasty. I would rather use a single R9 290 or 290x over a 7970 and 280x. The 290-290x will get over 100fps on any game I can think of besides maybe Crysis 3.

Compare my specs to yours in my signature. I have 8GB G.skill Ram and a 750w Corsair PSU and can get over 100fps in all games in Ultra settings. I never drop below 100 In BF4 on Ultra on all maps.
