Is my PSU good enough for a Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 290X Vapor-X?

Hey, this is gonna sound a little weird because I actually already own a 290X; a core edition reference design. Thing is I don't like how hot and loud it gets so I want to sell it and replace with a Sapphire Vapor-X version. I also don't want an after market cooler like the Arctic Accelero because they seem like a nightmare to install.

On Sapphire's website it says they recommend a 750W PSU, is that correct? Is the extra cooling and higher clock speeds gonna require that much more power?

I have an Antec True Power New 650W and my current 290X seems to run fine.

That is a really good quality PSU so I think it will be fine.

They recommend higher power due to the number of rather poor quality PSU's out there, I can't see there...
