Is my PSU powerfull enough?

I'm afraid my PSU is not powerfull enough for my system.
I'm using an Aopen 245W PSU that came with te case, the problem is that the air he blows runs hot quite quickly
and that my case is packed!

Since I read the article here about powersupplies
and the requirements for a modern PC, I did a little
math and came up with approximatively 305W for my
system.
I don't know if that figure is accurate but since
the PSU of my other system toasted a MOBO and HDD
I can't help wondering What if it happens to my
good system?

I tough I would buy an Enermax EG365AX-VE(W) FCA
to give me peace of mind for a faw years.

Is it necessary, or was my calculation wrong.

It is running stable? If it is running fine and has been for a while there is no need to replace the PSU. Unless you decide to upgrade in which case you would proberly be doing it anyway.

you are indeed on your way to a bad mother board. an over loaded psu cant work properly any more so it doesnt put out a clean voltage, the voltage it puts out is probably sagging quite a bit. i cant really prove it but i blame my last mobos death on a crap psu. 75 % of the caps were damaged.

If you are worried download and install motherboard monitor... and keep an eye on your voltages, particulary the 5v line. if it dips to below 4.8v then you may have troubles. Also, PSU that are struggling produce excessive amounts of heat out the back.

Indeed my 5v line was at 4.80v and the air was quite hot
but my problem is solved now, I passed by my favorite computer store yesterday afternoon and I couldn't resist
so I got myself an Enermax EG365AX-VE(G)(FMA)
So thank you all for your advice

ahhh. Good shot.

While your PSU wasnt failing, it was by the looks of it running close to full load, and they dont run very well at full load... or often dying very quickly.
