Is my pump ok?

I'm planning to add 2 120mm rads to my built and will have pump -> 120mm -> gtx 1080 -> 120mm -> i7 6800k -> 360mm -> resevoir -> pump. Will a single DDC pump be ok for that?

It should be capable to drive fluid through the loop but you must take heed that each radiator core design is different from the next, so which rads are you looking at? Ofc there will be restrictions in your blocks thus my followup question is what sort of CPU blocks are we looking at?

I put the parts in at the end of December. I also replaced my loud ddc pump with a d5. The d5 runs very quietly (at 100%). But even that cools worse than my ddc at 33%...
 
Depending on which DDC pump top you got the noise would've been generated from the impeller being brushed upon the inner pump housing/chamber. There is also a PWM variant of the D5 not to mention that there are various other makers of the coveted D5 unit.

Outside of listing your components as generic parts, could you list your watercooling components and the sort of overclocking you're doing to say that the D5 is cooling worse than the DDC? :)
 


I had an EK DDC pump (came with their extreme kit). And I'm fairly certain my EK D5 is PWM. All of my parts other than tubing and fluid are from EK. I have the extreme 360 rad and a CE 280 Rad installed. (The others didn't fit LOL, didn't plan for psu cables). I have a gtx 1080 (founders edition makes voltage/power) and a 6800k running at 1.29v 4.2ghz on core 0, 4ghz on rest in loop. It can get hot in the loop but not usually over 80C. I assume it's because the D5 doesn't have enough force to fill up the top 360mm rad. Although it's still pretty good because it stays under 30 decibels during gaming.
 
By the Extreme, you mean the XT or the XTX? EK have a number of rads in their arsenal, it gets worse when you pack in their older rads. Once that is clear, there's also the matter about the fans and their RPM's+your ambient temps.
If you are building a complicated loop with many angled adapters and several water blocks, a pump with high pressure will have the advantage. If you are building a small form factor PC with limited space, again, the DDC would be the smarter choice. The absolute all-rounder might be the PWM versioned D5. It has high flow rates and it runs cool and silent. In most cases, one D5 can run for several years without breaking a sweat.

What is your tubing dia for all inlets and outlets?
 


My fans are only set to 'ramp up' at about 60C though. My problem with the DDC was that there was a constant hum... But I am pretty happy with this rig though. ~70 degrees at 30 decibels is quite good.
 
The hum can come from a number of factors. One of which is the minimum ID of the tubing that you have in your system. The other would be if your system was primed and fully bled.

Then there's the part about your ambient temps. If noise was your governing factor with respect to cooling then you should have gone with thicker radiators and pressure optimized fans of the same variant. You get more air pushed from a 140mm at the same RPM when you compare it to a 120mm fan.
