I am building a new gaming machine and orderedsome ram, but the ram they sent me says "designed for Intel LGA 2011 processors and x79 platforms"
Problem is, I am building using AMD FX8350 on an ASRock 990fx extreme 6 mobo.... Before I send it back thinking they have sent me the wrong ram, will this ram actually be compatible with my setup....?

Solution
Yes, all DDR3 RAM is compatible with all DDR3 motherboards, it's not an issue. The information you are reading is just marketing jargon, trying to advertise.

What about voltage? Are low voltage RAM compatible with all motherboards or all processors? Are normal voltage RAM compatible with processors that can use low voltage processors? eg. this processor: http://ark.intel.com/products/81074/Intel-Pentium-Processor-N3530-2M-Cache-up-to-2_58-GHz, against memory it is written DDR3L RAM.

Will it be compatiable? I don't say that they should definitely run at lower voltage, but would they be compatible with my computer, If I insert them. Will the computer refuse the RAM or will just increase the voltage & RAM would be fine?
