I am testing my ram sticks to see if any of them was bad . I just tested them one by one but there was a really weird situation that I hope you can shed some light on .

I test my first stick ( stick A ) in mobo slot 1 with xmp on and it runs ok . Boots into Windows.

Then i test stick B in slot 2 and it doesn't boot ( still with xmp ) . So i move it to the first slot and it boots but I have to turn xmp off . Then i went back into bios turn xmp on , then it boot into Windows again and it still boots just fine.

Then i test stick A again in slot 1 . This time it doesn't boot . After resetting pc , it CAN boot but it boots into bios and said that bios has to load optimized defaults or clear cmos . But i still set xmp on again just to see how it goes and this time it can boot into Windows just fine without any problem.

Which software are you testing your ram? What is your motherboard and cpu?

Is your ram single or dual channel? What is your ram capacity?

Are you using memetest 86 for testing?

For the test above in my post I was just simply testing if any stick is bad by inserting them 1 by 1

here is my PC
My ram is dual, 4 sticks ,32gb , 8 gb each

I did do memtest around last week with XMP on and they all pass it

Ok..you did not buy you ram as 4*8 but as 16*2 instead for each which could be where the problem lies.

Please confirm if all your ram sticks have the same model. If not then it will not work because your motherboard will have compatability issues in which case you have to get yourself fresh sticks with 8*4 and not separately. I would contact Corsair or the seller and see if you can get it exchanged. I learnt this the hard way.

You should always get sticks that are of the same model and type. I doubt that even with the same model the ram sticks would be compatible. Again contact either corsair or the seller.

Which dimm slots are you using for testing? A1/B1 or A2/B2.

I am using 4 sticks. They are bought as single but from the same store and from same product page So they are all from the same batch . They all have same number and model name on the back of their cover.

My testing i used A1, A2

Ok so I'm not able to understand here. Are the ram sticks you bought come in a single pack or did it come as a kit?

If all the sticks come as single packs then it means that each stick is working as a single channel which means your sticks will have problems supporting dual channel.

If you bought it as a kit then it should come as all the sticks in one pack which should be what you should have bought instead if that is not the case as it will support dual channel.

Contact the seller to either get them exchanged or get a refund and buy a fresh kit that is 8*4 or 2*16.

The problem with ram is that even if you buy them separately to upgrade there is no guarantee that the sticks will mix well with the other ones and it's generally not recommended to do so. I learnt this the hard way when trying to mix new ram with my old ram.

I am not experienced enough to know the actual details so maybe wait for someone else to give a better answer. If no one besides me answers..again, your best bet is to contact the seller or corsair regarding the issue.

I see but can I even refund or get exchanged that way if they are not broken though . I Don't know if that is possible . Here at my country they either sell kit of 2 of single never as a kit of 4 . I totally never know single stick can't run with each other. I thought as long as they are the same model even as single stick they can run together just fine

If they are not broken I don't see why you can't get it exchanged or refunded as long as the period of refund hasn't crossed yet. If that's not possible, sell them and get either 2*16 kit or 8*4 kit.

Ram manufacturing isn't always the same. There can be some that are made with Samsung and other from hynix but are of the same brand. I also faced this problem recently and it's only now I realised that is not how ram sticks work.

I check mine and they are all from samsung . But isn't warranty work the opposite way ? Like they only refund or exchange you for a new part only if they are broken cause how can you file a warranty claim if they work normally . I dont think that is how warranty work

Warranty won't replace it if the sticks are working as expected. In your case it only doesn't work if the sticks mix with each other.

In which case you should either return it or sell them and get a kit.

Isn't return the same as warranty ? I don't think i Can return them cause they are not faulty
