I have recently bought a Corsair Vengeance 2666mhz 2x8gb RGB RAM kit, before I had an 8gb3000mhz non rgb module. After installing the new ram, I see that it has been automatically clocked to 3000mhz with xmp enabled. The voltage is at 1.35v and is red.. is this safe? How can I check?

Solution
Hmm well yeah, ram is running at 3000. Don't know how. 1.35v could be helping but timings are a little higher also. How this is under XMP is not usual. Ram profiles is a preset, beyond that is custom. If bios retained automatic XMP settings for the new ram and somehow managed to clock them higher, so be it. Ya got lucky.

If want to assure stability, run prime95 or Aida64.

Good luck :)

1.35v is fine and often see motherboards label it in red. It's unnecessary and only causes concern. 1.35v is well within DDR4 specs.

Regarding speed though, can you post a screenshot of SPD tab in Cpuz please. Only way 2666 ram would be running at 3000 is if they have XMP profile for 3000.

I think I added the ss, I don't understand what it's saying but it's not what the bios said..

ill look into running 'prime95' soon, any recommendations on how I do it or how long I leave it?
