Hey (I'm new here)

My friend recommend that i post my planned build on here, so here it goes

AMD FX-4350 4.2ghz (4 Core)
Kingston HyperX Fury 2x4gb DDR3 1866Mhz
MSI Radeon R7 360 Gaming Edition 2gb GDDR5
WD Blue 1TB 3.5 HDD
Samsung SH-224FB
EVGA 500W 80+ White
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
Thermaltake Versa H15 (MATX)

Motherboard:
I'm not sure whether to spend more on an Asrock 970M Pro 3 (Sata III, USB3 front connector, 2x PCI x16 slots (I wont be crossfire-ing the pc) or the Gigabyte SKT-AM3 78LMT-USB3 (Sata II, USB front panel connector, one x16 port. My problem is, although Asrock seem to be as decent as Asus or Gigabyte, there seems to be more support for the Gigabyte motherboard.

I found the two boards where cheapest on Amazon UK.
Gigabyte SKT-AM3 78LMT-USB3 Motherboard £41.00
ASRock 970M Pro3 - motherboard £66.45 (not in stock currently)

Besides price, I'm also asking if its worth the extra money for SATA III
I have seen videos on YouTube of people with a similar setup as my planned build play BF4 at 1080p @ 60FPS.

(Thought putting more money in the GPU rather than an SSD would be better for gaming, boot time doesn't really affect me.

To conclude:
Worth the price for SATA 3?
Worth the price for a less reputable company?
Is the rig compatible?

Thank you for your time guys.

The PC itself, excluding peripherals, is £450 is. If a component is going to push the budget a bit but it adds performance then i am willing to pay a bit more. As long as the PSU is reliable and provides enough power then for me it is ok. As you can tell it's defiantly a budget build!

thanks...It's a nice ish rig but it has poor clock speed :/

whats wrong with the other components in my rig?

Also, all the parts need to come from 2 sellers to savve on shipping costs. By this i mean amazon + aria or amazon + scan etc

I have amazon prime trial atm so i get free shipping ( comes in handy when ordering pc parts! 😉 )

If i changed to a f3600 and kept the rest, would it be enough to play games such as BF4 at high settings in 1080p?
I really can't afford to get an i5 🙁

as your build is from 6 sites, there is lots of postage costs 🙁
your build also does not include a copy of Windows 7 so your build is actually £71 more expensive than posted. In total your build is £523.30. My build including windows OS and some extra fans comes under £460...

That aside. What is wrong with my choice of PSU? And which motherboard should I go for?
Tah

The power supply is a low quality Tier 3 unit. You want to stick with Tier 1 and Tier 2. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

For FX, the Asrock board would be the better, of those two options. A Gigabyte 970a-UD3P would be a far better board. It has better power delivery, and more suitable for overclocking.

For Intel, it really depends on budget. MSI H81M-E34 is a good starting point.

All from Amazon.

Tried to make it easy for you - all from amazon.

GTX 950 is a better buy, and would save some money. It is not really that much slower than the 960. Also, still a Tier 3 PSU. That motherboard is not very suitable for overclocking, either.

alas it's not as cheap as the R7 360... and what logainofhades was saying about the psu, would a Corsair 430W Modular PSU be okay for my build? Is it better quality as it's Corsair, and it would be better for airflow as there isnt so many cables laying about in my case....?

Because of this- I'm trying to stick to my original build as much as possible. Sorry for being tricky 🙁
I should of said earlyer, sorry, I have already bought the case. My build ideally needs to be and will have to be MATX as i have a very small room and I won't be moving anytime soon! This is also why I have not taken too lovingly to your builds. As great-full as I am for your help, they don't suit my needs. 🙁

You should have gone with the n200 - you wouldn't have needed any extra fans.

These are my opinions below:-

1. Take the evga 500b over the corsair 430m - its a better PSU plain & simple - ignore the modular aspect - 20 minutes & a few plastic ties will do the job for cable management.

2. The gigabyte 78lmt is a solid little board - sata 2 but who cares really if youre not using an ssd.

3. The 4350 is not worth the extra over a 4300 - its nearly £20 more.
Buy a 4300 + an aftermarket cooler like the hyper 103

Cooler Master RR-H103-22PB-R1 Hyper 103 "High Performance, 3 Direct Contact Heatpipes, Universal CPU Cooler" Black with Blue LED https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00D4EEEFQ/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_XbB3vbJMXHVWV

In fact no matter what amd chip you buy you absolutely 100% want the above cooler mate.

4. Absolutely 100% go for the gtx 950 above - go out of your way to squeeze it in budget mate - the 360 will just disappoint.
Consider the 860k & the Asus board I listed if it works out a little cheaper.

The Corsair is even worse, as it is a tier 4. The 500b is definitely better. If going AMD, I would probably go with an 860k, over an FX 4300. The i3/750ti build is better still, though. The R7 360 is just a rebadged R7 260x, which was a rebadged HD 7790. The GTX 750ti is a bit faster.

would a 6 core processor not be better for gaming though? (I did base my build of Jack frags gaming pc- the video where he uses a fx6300. I saw the gaming performance he got from a £450 pc and thourght it was good, mid range for the money.
On the subject of jack fraggs- would a sapphire radeo r9 270x be worth the extra cash?

It might be 6 cores, but they are so weak, that they lose to an i3. The FX 6300 has to be clocked to at least 3.9-4.0ghz, to match/beat an i3. Even at 4.5ghz, it cannot touch my older i5, 3570k, @ stock. The 270x is definitely a better card, than the 360 or the 750ti.

Hmm okay- I'm not sure i can afford to spend more on a cpu- ive done some number matching and jumping to an i3 would mean i wouldn't be able to afford the 750ti or 270x not from Aria or amazon anyway. I will use that cheaper board- gigabyte would be more stable for over clocking right? Getting the cheaper board would save me some money to afford a better GPU
Sound good? Sorry if I'm gabbling- im trying my best to take it all in aha! :)
