I bought this PSU last year hoping to future proof my PC for some years as I will buy one of these 3080Ti / 6950xt/ 78(9)00xt in the future once I check out the market upon AMD's 7000 series release. But now I'm reading people suggesting a minimum of 1.2k PSU in these forums. What gives..? I spent so much money on the Corsair now I have to spend even more money on a higher one? Specs in sig.

For RTX 3000, and RX6000, a 1kw PSU is still fine. It's the RTX 4090 that may prove to be the one that may require more. FYI, the 3080 12gb is 3-5 FPS, on average slower, than a 3080ti, and typically quite a bit cheaper. The 6900xt is a better buy, more often than not, than a 6950xt. Similar performance, and cheaper. I do not expect RX 7000 will be too terrible, as AMD has stated they also focused on efficiency with RDNA 3. Nvidia is just brute forcing their way to the top of the benchmark charts.

Ok I'm never buying the 40 series can't say about the way in the future 50 series but I'm really hopeful the 7000 AMDs will be magic. Because the 6000s run so much energy efficiently compared to the 30s albeit with a little performance deficiency which is like really negligible. And I mentioned the GPUs as per my availability in my region. The middle brands are like completely gone so either you can have the 6600xt or the 6950xt and the 3080s are really old stocks of brands I don't trust at all (from my previous experience) and so will never buy them.
