Hi. Few days ago i got a bios notification, that my SSD kingston hyperx savage 240gb which i use about 2 years, is in very bad state, and doesn't pass SMART checks.
I even had to disable SMART check to load OS.
So i checked SSD state with kingston tool. And this, what have i seen:
Its very strange, that there are no failures, but SSD spare blocks all wasted.
Here is full report:
Interesting thing here:
170 [0xaa] - Bad Block Count:
---------------------------------------------
0 0 10 0x00000069000001c6 0x03,OC,PW
It means that i have 69000001c6 hex => 450971566534 dec ?? So about everything on SSD are bad blocks ?
Also it works fine on read. So i can even load windows from there, but it can't save any config, so it loads every time from the same place. I still have warranty, but i can't give it to service, because i can't delete my working projects from there :/
I tried to update firmware, but it fails with 1004 status code.
Also if i try to format it, than i have success notification, but nothing changed. All files in place.
So what do you think? Is this SSD dead ?
