Question Is my tv causing the screen tearing?

Msi gaming x trio rtx 2080
Ryzen 5 3600 4.2ghz all core oc
16gb 3600 mhz ram
Gen 4 m.2 nvme ssd
X570 gaming pro mobo
Samsung un55ku6290 4k hdr TV
I'm getting screen tearing no matter what the setting in nvidia control panel or on my tv.

Edit: I've tried the different modes on the tv i.e. game mode, hdr+, movie, etc.
Cpu temp is 50 max
Gpu 70 max
Tears in all faster moving video playback to include the games I've tried.

Replacing the TV with a different better model should solve your problem, sorry to not helping much though.

Does tearing happens in benchmarks too ? What are your temps

Look for the game mode, it disables the some frame duplication features a lot of tv's use to enhance smoothness.

Yup. I get tearing with everything to include hbo max (chrome). I've tweaked AC:Odyssey enough to get it to an unnoticeable state but it still has its moments.
Gpu stays at 68-70 under full load
Cpu max 50 under full load

I did go through and try this out but with no luck. It made the picture quality change (look worse imo) but still tears the same as before.

Have you tried vsync? Is your refresh rate set at 60 hz. What are the fps you get in games.
