Is my USB destroyed?

I have a 8GB usb and I used it for a month and worked fine but when I wanted to create a bootable windows 7 usb on it it went all fine but the installion failed so I had to boot on my main operating system but the usb didn't open and said it need to be formatted before used and it doesn't let me format it.I tried everything possible but it still tells me that the drive is WRITE PROTECTED.I tried a lot of softwares from different developers but none worked I tried something called HP format tool but didn't work some program which was comand line made..didn't work either I tried regedit but didn't work i tried Partition Mini Tool and the one that is built in the windows but it once told me it is unallocated now it shows as healthy but doesn't format or anything.The drive has no switch or anything and it was never dropped or damaged.I tried freezing it overnight and try to format it but still no luck.I might throw it away but I thought to get any last suggestion in here what to do.Thanks in advance
