Is my vg278hv asus monitor compatible with HP ENVY Extreme 12th gen? If I thought ASUS or HP would actually tell me, I'd ask them.

Does your computer have an HDMI output, or a USB-C that supports HDMI alt-mode?

I don't know. The Amazon page says nothing about it. The ad there gives you the option to buy a monitor that has HDMI, presumably because the two are compatible. I don't want to buy the computer and find out later that they don't work together.

Let's look at the back:

What I see is 1 HDMI port, 3 DisplayPorts, possibly a 4th one if you count the Thunderbolt connector.

Which inputs does the ASUS vg278hv take? According to the spec sheet, HDMI, VGA, and DVI.

Now which of these ports the two have in common? HDMI.

Ergo, you can use the monitor with the computer.
