I was wondering how to check or if anyone could help me on how to check if a CPU I'm interested in purchasing was compatible with my mother board of my system.
Specs. The CPU im interested in is the (intel 17 4790k)

Your FX-8300 should be enough for your GTX 1050.

You should install MSI Afterburner and use the on-screen display to show CPU and GPU usage. If your GPU usage is maxed out at 99-100% while gaming, then you could benefit from a better GPU.

If you want a better CPU, you should get a new motherboard and CPU.

I recommend both a better CPU and GPU.

No, you can't put an Intel CPU in an AMD motherboard, or vice versa.

Your CPU is not as fast as other, newer CPUs; however, your GPU is also rather low-end for modern gaming. I wouldn't be surprised if you could gain more performance from a better GPU.
