[SOLVED] Is NAS home version of Dropbox?

Hi, if I want something like dropbox that I could easily share files among home computers running different OS (Mac OS, Linux, Windows) and my iPhone as well as to backup my computers, is NAS the way to go?

A NAS is not a home version of Dropbox.

A good one is a little server that you can use to share files, accept backups from your house systems, and do a lot more.
All under you personal control.

A good NAS is a LOT more feature rich than DropBox.
