There is Asus notebook, which all USB ports stopped working.
It happened after power loss (notebook battery dead) or something related to electricty.
After that no USB ports work. It seems there is power coming from ports (phone starts to charge), but computer doesnt see any plugged devices.

I doubt its software problem, because I tried USB keyboard in BIOS and it doesn't work.
Does that mean USB chip on motherboard is dead?

Solution

1. Look over the tips in this link...
Nothing suspicious there.
Tried uninstalling all USB hubs and other USB related things and unchecking part where it allows to disable power for USB.
Tried removing battery and waiting, basically no difference.

Tried using different devices, USB flash drives, USB keyboard USB mouse, Phone. Phone charged normally, but computer didn't see it and mouse tracking light blinked for brief moment on plugging in. Other devices didn't show any sign of life.

Tried bootable USB stick and USB keyboard on BIOS mode, no luck.

It is ASUS K60IJ.
Well I am not sure if it was only power loss. Sorry, I think I had to be more specific.
I was told, there was need to fix something in wall sockets. So I wouldn't rule out short circuit or something.

Something simple you can try is to "Disable and re-enable the USB controller" in Device Manager.

Thank you for suggestion.
BTW, I also tried BIOS settings reset.

Do you have any more tips to check, because I will reach that computer only tomorrow?
