Is Overclocking Dangerous?

Well I abandoned my plan buying the i3-7100 because of its price... But I recently founded a more cheaper and far more better CPU than the i3-7100 (IF OVERCLOCKED)... And that is THE RYZEN 3 1200!!

The only problem tho is OVERCLOCKING because some people said its risky and dangerous..

So I came here and post this question..

The biggest thing about overclocking is to have good cooling in place before you start. It produces a lot of heat in the CPU. if you can remove the heat fast enough the temperature won't increase very much and you should be OK. Look for forums about overclocking your specific CPU. Some have Voltage limits that must be adhered to.
Sometimes faster memory is needed to support the overclocked bus speed. For a beginner get the best air cooler you can find that will fit in your computer. Also realize that the heat needs to leave the computer not just the CPU. Cold air in, Hot air out.

I haven't had much experience with that CPU so can't offer my opinion.But to answer your question. Overclocking is the norm on higher end hardware these days, most GPU manufacturers endorse overclocking and often you get pre-overclocked cards.
You won't damage your CPU if you have good cooling and do it carefully, even if you don't do it carefully you will just have an unstable pc or blue screen and you will know that you need to go back and re configure your overclock settings.

When changing the voltage just add in small increments so you won't damage the CPU, Your CPU will get higher temperatures if you add too much voltage, and most motherboards have a limit so you can't do any serious damage to the CPU.

In terms of GPU, all NVIDIA Pascal GPUs are already auto overclocking quite high. You can always squeeze out a little more but it's probably 5-10% at most, and NVIDIA limit all parameters aggressively you have to go out of the way to actually harm the GPU.
