[SOLVED] Is PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD support worth it?

I'm in the process of planning a system upgrade and I'm trying to figure out if I should spend extra $'s on a mobo with PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD support. I know that PCIe 5.0 SSDs are not out there yet so this would be more of a "future proofing" feature.

In my research the only boards I have found that support PCIe 5.0 for M.2 SSDs are 3 models from Asus. (ROG Strix Z690-E Gaming WiFi, ROG Maximus Z690 Apex, and ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme) In their documentation it says that if you use a PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD that the PCIe x16 slot will be downgraded to an x8 slot. So that is a bit of a negative, but Asus support did say that if I put my GPU in a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot it would not be affected by the "slowdown" of the 5.0 x16 slot.

I'm looking for opinions/advice on if I should go for the 5.0 support for the SSD or not.

Thanks in advance!
