I need to replace Power Supply Unit of my T5400(=H875E-00) Does anyone know if I can replace it with T5500(=N875EF-00 ) PSU?

Thanks for your advise. Well, I probably love dinosaur age PCs, hahaha.

I just foud out the answer to my own question in the Japanese Web site.

The PSU for T5500(H875EF-00 or N875EF-00) is compatible with T5400(H875E-00 or N875E-00) and Alienware(J556T).

I will go for N875EF-00 as it seems newer with "80Plus Silver"logo.

I found a reasonablly priced dinosaur age PSU(=N875EF-00 ) at eBay! The N875EF-00 is about 1yr newer than its predecessor H875E-00. And I'm pretty sure that it has an improved schematic design with a clicking power-on relay sound.

The problem with my T5400 is same as :

I will let you kmow if/when my T5400 boot up. Expecting it's delivery in about a week.

Hi! this is just a note to let you know the PSU(=N875EF-00 ) arrived and my T5400 came back to life.
I looked into the unit and found out that "N875EF-00" is better built than "H875E-00" because it has "Active PFC (Power Factor Control)" built in.

Active PFC:

Since the used PSU was quite dusty inside, I cleaned it myself and is working great now!
The T5400(Xeon E5440 x2) is much faster than my T3500(Xeon W3530 x 1) although it gets hotter!
I think PROCESS LASSO Pro can help improve the temperature issue. If not, install a 90mm fan.

I will keep using these dinosaur age machines until I need to build a new monster PC.
You will probably turn into "sea urchin" and be served at Sushi Bar by then, hahaha, joking of course
Oooops! too much talking, Sorry.
