[SOLVED] Is PSU in my system sized correctly?

I would appreciate some help in determining if the PSU I chose is the right size (wattage) for the components selected. The system will be used primarily for video editing (Premiere Pro), plus some gaming. I do plan on some mild overclocking of the CPU, RAM and GPU. Just not sure if the 850W is too much......

Thanks in advance....and any other advice is welcome.

Solution
You dont need a 850 watt PSU for that rig. But it wont hurt anything to have it either. For a 9900k and a 1070 a decent 550 watt PSU would probably be enough. But I would go with a 650 watt as the 9900k uses more power than advertised.

If there is not much of a price difference, then stick with the PSU you have selected. It is a really good PSU. I have the same 850 watt Seasonic in my rig.

Thanks for the reply; any other comments or suggestions on the build...given its intended use?

If it were me, I would not buy a 9900k. They are just too expensive for what you get. I would go with the 2700x. When you consider the price of the cooler, it will be half the cost of the 9900k and performance will not be very far off.

But if you want the best, then the 9900k is that, its just not a good value.

I left of the H100i as the 2700x comes with a decent stock cooler. I would try it out first and see if you are satisfied before buying the H100i.

Thanks for the reply; I understand that the 9900K is way overpriced at present, but the plan is to delay purchasing until some time next calendar year. Hopefully, by that time supply issues will be worked out.

I also did a comparative 2700X build and the cost difference was ~$250. (FWIW, you did leave out PSU :) )
I was advised that if the 2700X is overclocked, it too will require an aftermarket cooler.....

For the intended purpose (this is for a good friend) and the added performance, it was worth the extra $$ (specifically live edit functions per several videos and Puget System testing)

Thanks for the reply @TJ Hooker, I agree with you; at present I believe its in the $580 range - as a place holder, I plugged in $530. Based on our research, he was comfortable with the incremental cost for increased performance of those functions within Premiere Pro. As the research discovered, the results favored the 9900K over the 2700X for those functions he required (Live Edit as opposed to rendering). I am referencing these resources; hopefully, we are not wrong in our conclusions.........as there is an abundance of conflicting information.
