Is RAID 0 good for my setup?

Hello.

I'll keep it short.

I have
2x NEW 1TB Drives
1x OLD 1TB Drive
1x 120GB SSD

I'll be putting that up together in 2 days.

What I use PC for:
Programming (Sometimes moving around 50GB Virtual Machines)
Gaming
Office
Some Graphics
Some 3D Graphics

To start of:
120GB SSD (100GB usable) is to small for me to put Windows and programs on.

What I thought of:
2x NEW 1TB drives in RAID 0 - divided to two partitions (SYTEM, DATA)
1x OLD 1TB drive as regular backup of DATA partition.
1x SSD to use with Intel Rapid Storage (Aka SSD Buffer)

What do you think of it? Do you have any suggestions?

Not that bad idea. What about rest of the drives?

What you're suggesting could definitely work. Though you'd still get more speed if you ran off of a true SSD for your OS and programs. Why not invest the money from the two new 1Tb into a larger SSD and a larger backup drive. RAID 0 still has significant performance drop from an SSD.

I'm thinking of getting That SSD (840 EVO 500GB). But not this year. Maybe Jan/Feb. Also depends on how much I'll earn.
This SSD is very cheap compared to others. Is is worth it?

When I'll get that 500GB SSD I'll put Windows and Programs on it. Than DATA on RAID 0 (2x1TB) with 120 as Intel Rapid Storage and backup on that old 1TB.

But for now... Is what I suggested good solution?
