As long as it's the same kind I.E. DDR3 or DDR2 etc etc it'll be fine to re use it. Better is kinda a personal preference on RAM, I like Mushkin only because I like the name, Patriot is good, lotta people are using GSkill right now. Right now I've got a set of Team 2400 CL 10 in my machine, it was a good deal and it's running like a champ. I like to use Neweggs options to narrow down what I want in RAM, then I get whatever is on sale, sacrilege I know. But it seems to all have lifetime warranties on them, so maybe they're all pretty similar, until you get into overclocking, then do your research, some of it is better at overclocking than others.

ive noticed that all new board are dual channel so i wanted to get a 4 stick set so i can use 3 stick to run triple channel on my board now and when i get the ugrade use the left over stick for dual channel on that board but i wanted to make sure that any kind of ram would work.
