Is Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma hardware 7.1 or software?

Does the Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma have 7 drivers or it has only 2 and simulates 7.1 surround with software?

There really is no "true" 7.1 surround in headsets/headphones. Its all simulated, how else would it work?

I mean, they probably can't put 7 drivers in such a small package.
It's software, I think.

Razer Kraken's use software, the Razer Tiamat 7.1's actually have 5 drivers in each can so 10 in total. Software virtual surround sound just doesn't work in my opinion, the Tiamat's give some form of directional sound but it's still nothing like real 7.1 speakers

Well does that mean a Razer Kraken Pro with Razer Surround software is basically the same thing as Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma except the RGB light?

The Kraken Pro (standard) is not 7.1 surround, the Kraken Pro 7.1 is, as is the Kraken Chroma.

Don't know about that but the Kraken Pro's are awful. I got a pair and the sound quality is dreadful, luckily they came free with a purchase

Yes it's not, but with Razer Surround software you can basically make every headset 7.1

I wasnt going to comment other than the surround, but I agree. The Krakens are fairly poor quality.
