[SOLVED] Is repeatedly switching on/off HDR capable of breaking monitor?

I have a LG 27 GL650F and have been using for 14 months. Today it stopped turning on despite being used just 8 hours prior without problem whatsoever. I tried plugging the power cable to another LG monitor that I got and it turned on so the problem likely reside within the monitor not the adapter. I'm scratching my head on what could be the problem.

Recently there's this game I'm playing (Sekiro) that got HDR. It's not frequent that I play HDR enabled game. There's usually some flickering when I alt+tab out of the game to web browser on my 2nd monitor (Guessing windows switch off HDR to match the 2 monitor when I go back out, since when HDR is enabled the color is really strange , washed out on desktop - not in game tho). I don't do this that frequently tho, like once every couple hours when I do gaming session. So could this be a problem? The repeated switching between modes?

I know all I can do is to contact my vendor (who pointed me to contact LG myself) and wait for the warranty process, but being a developer I'm somewhat curious on the source of this problem. If my guess is correct that might affect all my monitor purchase in the future, specifically I'll only buy the ones without HDR 😀

Thanks :)

Could be the wall adapter.

Do you have any adapter with same specs and connector size to test?

I have 2 LG monitors with same connector size, so I plugged the cable to the other one and it turned on. Both monitors have back label stating 19v - 2.4Amp. The AC adapter is from LG and says 19V-2.53A
