Their no such thing as future proof!

EDIT in general you buy a good processor it should last 5 to 7 years ( changes as demands go up)
Buy a bit more video card than you need and plan on upgrading it about 1/2 way through the life of the processor.

If you look at a game already out on Ultra your not going to get 144hz with any card out right now.

Yes. I'm asking because I'm planning to buy this card. Actually I cancelled the offer. Price was 1200 euros and I'm thinking maybe wait till january and buy 3080 If price will drop?

It's your money. But I wouldn't be caught paying 500 Euro for it. Do the math on it. 1200/6 years max life. That's 200 Euros a year. Do you spend that much in games per year?

If you spend more on the card per year than the actual games, something is wrong.

You should be set for six years with standard games, 2->3 years for Ray tracing games. If you do VR, likely only 2 years.
I dont play 4k and 1440p and, for me, there is no big deal playing with Ray tracing and ultra. I think 3070 Ti is ok for me. Found another new one for 1100 euros Asus Tuf gaming RTX 3070 Ti.
Thank you all.
