Question Is Running A CPU Benchmark In Realtime Priority Supposed To Crash/Freeze Windows?

Tried running a cpu benchmark and went to the task manager and set its priority to Realtime...
Result: Instant, system-wide freeze. Requiring a forced restart of the machine.

Actually it didn't crash per se... the OS just stopped responding.

Yup, this is expected behavior, benchmarks use 100% of CPU cycles and if you use real-time all 100% go to the benchmark and there is nothing left, not even enough to move the mouse.

It's not a good idea anyway to manually set the priority of a process. If you're benchmarking your PC, you shouldn't be running anything else anyway.
