Guys, I am planning to buy a new GPU. I have a budget of about 200€. I am going to play at 2560x1080 resolution, and do you think will the rx580 8gb be a fair option or I should buy something else?

Solution
Given my son's experience, it can manage 60fps in some games. I believe from what he plays, 7 Days To Die and Rainbow 6 Siege will struggle - though, given his monitor has FreeSync, it maintains smoothness even at lower refresh rates.

The RX 590 might be a better option, and the Sapphire Nitro+ SE RX 590 is currently available for £204.83 - it's a bit of a power hog, though, so you want to make sure you have a beefy power supply for it.

A better option, as it looks like the AMD RX 580/590 cards are a little pricier in the UK than the US, is to consider the GTX 1660 Super. They start around £200...
This is about what I would expect>>>>>>

Here a couple quotes from some people who have used the RX580 at that resolution.

"I was running an r9 fury on 2560x1080@75hz and it was a great experience. Most games would be at 60+fps range or I could max them out if I tinkered the settings a bit. "

Here is another one.

"You'll be just fine with a RX580, maybe +60fps on all games you'll play. "

However, if you're not in a hurry, the GTX 1650 Super and RX 5500 are getting released soon - I don't know if either of them will outperform the RX 580. But, it's possible that they'll exert slight downward pressure on the prices of the RX 580/590 and maybe the 1660Super as well.

In my country, RX 580 8GB new is 190$, and rx590 is 230$. I don't think that spending 40$ more is worth an additional 10FPS maybe in some games. Right now, I have GTX 680 2GB, and really even rx 570 would improve my gaming experience.

I have a RX 580 4gb & am gaming on a 34" 2560x1080P/75hz/Freesync monitor (R5 2600 CPU & 2x8gb @3200 memory).

Division 2: Medium preset/DX12 enabled=65-75 FPS (well within Freesync range or 48-75)
Division 2: High preset/DX12 enabled=50-65 FPS

Destiny 2: High Preset=70-75 FPS.

Ace Combat 7: High Preset=75 FPS (may go higher but I enable vsync).

Rise of the Tomb Raider: High Preset: Avg 65 FPS, highest is usually in the 80s and lowest was around 40 for a split second.

If your wondering about other games let me know as I have a decently sized Steam library and don't mind doing some testing if desired.

Hope this helps.

A valid point - I suppose it matters which specific games you're playing, and what sort of level of detail and/or frame rates you're looking for.
