Hi, I was thinking to upgrade my platform to a x470 Taichi and I was wondering if the ryzen 5 4500 would be a good match since I read mixed reviews on that CPU. Also I could also go for a used 2600x, what do you think would go better?

Instead of going for a platform swap you could look into a second hand i7-7700K processor, 50USD air cooler and a dual channel DDR4-3200MHz ram kit, while keeping the rest of your build as is, to get an uplift.

That my opinion on the matter though, others would definitely have a different take on the matter ;)

I thought about it and I'd rather upgrade because where I live (Italy) people are selling 7700k for over 150 € and imo it's not worth it for the performance improvement, and as you said I'd have to get a air cooler on top of it.
Meanwhile I've found a listing for a 2600x and a x470 taichi for 180 € with wiggle room.
Thanks for the help anyway
