Hi, I was thinking to upgrade my platform to a x470 Taichi and I was wondering if the ryzen 5 4500 would be a good match since I read mixed reviews on that CPU. Also I could also go for a used 2600x, what do you think would go better?
Forgot to quote 😅Can you please state what you have to work with at this moment of time? Meaning, listing your full system's specs. Please list them like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model.
I thought about it and I'd rather upgrade because where I live (Italy) people are selling 7700k for over 150 € and imo it's not worth it for the performance improvement, and as you said I'd have to get a air cooler on top of it.Instead of going for a platform swap you could look into a second hand i7-7700K processor, 50USD air cooler and a dual channel DDR4-3200MHz ram kit, while keeping the rest of your build as is, to get an uplift.
That my opinion on the matter though, others would definitely have a different take on the matter
Just slight advantage to 4500 in single core performance but also less power usage and running cooler.Hi, I was thinking to upgrade my platform to a x470 Taichi and I was wondering if the ryzen 5 4500 would be a good match since I read mixed reviews on that CPU.
