Hi i have a ryzen 5 1600X right now wich is a fantastic cpu for most of my tasks but it struggles on hearts of iron 4. People who know this game know that this game needs much cpu power. And in mid game the game starts to run slow and its my favorite game so i tough of buying a stronger cpu a ryzen 7 2700X i know i can buy 3700x but didnt A320 chipset stop support 3rd gen even if you update bios? And what i want to know is if a 2 gen is worth the money in 2021? But on gigabyte site it says that if you upgrade this motherboard bios to F50 it should be cepable of supporting 3rd gen its confusing

A320 support up to Ryzen 3000 but I wouldn't put a 3900X on a A320 board. You could buy a 3700X 8 cores. It's still a very good CPU.

Look at the difference between each generation x600X

What is your motherboard?

I think i said 3700x didnt i? But thanks for the help i guess il buy 3700x i think a ryzen 5 3600x will do just fine to but the price is almost the same in my country so why not buy the best when you can

Yeah I knew you said 3700X :) I should have said "You can still buy the 3700X like you said".

Don't forget to Flash the BIOS for that 3700X.
But last question do you think 3700x will bottleneck my gpu because a 3700x feels to overkill for a 1660 super in my opinion. And yes i have 3200mhz ram if you ewounder otherwise its no point getting a 3rd gen haha

You pay a lot more than the competition for NZXT Aios.

Cooler Master ML240L (both vanilla and V2) are great coolers for the money. just picked up the vanilla for $45 after rebate.

A bequiet dark rock 4 or noctua nh-u12s (avoid the redux) would he a good option for a 3700x if you want an air cooler.

Just went from a 1600x to a 3700x on my old Asus B350, new cooler & case. Cooler is a Deepcool AS500 Plus, pretty great combined with the Lian Li Mesh II Performance case.

Super stoked on the CPU upgrade. The cooler & case are just icing on the cake.

For whatever reason, the 3700x is more stable in COD for me. I think the mem controller in the 1600x, mine in particular had issues with the 3200 Gskill flare X CL14. Would occasionally crash in game, hasn't happened since the upgrade. A good bump in FPS as well, solid 20fps/15% with the 2070 super.

Honestly even a plain 3600 will be a big upgrade over the 1600. I previously ran a 2700x and swapped in a plain 3600 and found it to be faster in pretty much everything except video work where the extra cores in the 2700x paid off. In gaming the 3600 was faster in every single game. If it was my gaming system, and a 5600x isn't an option, I would probably try and find a 3600x or 3600xt since it will be less demanding on the A320 vrm.
