Is SLI worth it? Two 960 GTX EVGA or just a 980ti EVGA?

Sup people. So after a while I'm starting to think that my system is getting a tad out of the graphics area. I play black ops 3 and I attempt to run it at max settings which gets me a good fps with my 960 GTX by EVGA... But when I get in combat and start jumping around my fps seem to drop and I experience jolts of imagery. Another issue I face is that things don't seem to render correctly on black ops 3... For example the multiplayer menu with the Battery character has writing on her armor but it comes up all blocky and looks like rubbed ink! Now I feel like I may have a messed up card as I see blocky imagery in dark places and the textures don't blend in so well in dark places and I see like lines of two colors in a dark place. SO THAT AWAY, I feel like either my card is dead and I've had it for a couple of months so I dunno if I can return it, or my card is good and black ops 3 is a pretty heavy game so SLI should be good. The question is: is my card defective? Should I SLI two 960 2GB GTX EVGA? Or should I save and wait a while and get a 980ti?? My system specs are:

MSI gaming 970 motherboard
GTX 960 2GB EVGA
FX-6300 AMD 6-core processor 3.5Ghz
16GB of HyperX Fury DDR3
Corsair H100i GTX Water cooler
1TB Hardrive
Gigabyte Wifi+Bluetooth card (GC-WB867D-I)
Monitor: GL2250 Benq HD 1080p 60Hz LED HDMI(using HDMI)
Case: NZXT H440 with 3 additional fans
PSU: 700W cooler master 85(energy rating)

Solution
The answer to your question is go for 980Ti directly.

Now, my recommendation? Upgrade your CPU before GPU, it will cause a bottleneck with 980Ti.
