Is slight dimming on the corners normal?

I just got a new monitor today so far everything good but I am slightly concerned as the corners of the monitor are slightly darker than the rest. My camera can't really get a good picture of it, but I can definitely see a slight shade on the corners (mostly on the top on the panel). Is this normal? It is a Dell TN panel.

What's the model name of your monitor?
You can check reviews of that model and see, what they say about screen backlight uniformity.

That's a typical characteristic of many/most TN panel displays.

I never buy TN panel displays for that very reason.

It's the S2417DG. I skimmed through some of the reviews on Amazon and I couldn't find anything.

It's not really bad enough to return it but it's slightly disappointing.

That's most likely backlight issue. Not limited to TN displays.
Are you suggesting to choose plasma screens instead?

Fortunately it's not a serious problem. Still looks better than the other TNs I've seen.
