Hi. let say I have 3d max inside a folder I want to lock that folder by password but I want to open that 3d max from desktop! So is that possible? Which software can do this? Also I need to send file inside that folder when it's locked by password.

If the folder is pwd protected, but you can still access the contents of that folder without the pwd....then what is the pwd doing?

Also, who are you trying to protect against? What is the threat vector?

If you "own" the computer (you're administrator), you can set the folder containing sensitive info to be accessible only to selected users. This won't prevent, however, someone with physical access to get access to the information.

The most secure way is to put that folder in some encrypted container (you can use BitLocker for that), and unlock it on demand.
