The i7-12700K has Intel Iris Xe built in. The street wisdom is that they are the same except for the iGPU and therefore doesn't make a difference if you have a dGPU. However, I have often heard that some applications/games can use iGPU to help the performance of a dGPU in tandem, combining their power. In that case, wouldn't the K model offer an advantage vs the KF?

Integrated graphics will include the Quick Sync capability.
Here is what it can do:

For the $25 or so extra, integrated graphics is handy when testing and can help with graphics card problems.

Or, possibly even power supply problems.
Let me explain that one.
My psu failed and I installed a weaker replacement I had on hand.
Unfortunately, it was not strong enough to run my strong graphics card.
Integrated graphics to the rescue...
