Look at the gaming performance. Even an i5 beats it.

So, it is good for gaming, but there are better options. I would take a similiar priced Intel Xeon 1231v3. You can't overclock it, but it have hyper threading and nearly the power of an i7 for the price of an i5. Intel Xeon or i5/i7 need less power and therefore are cooler (and that makes the fans less noisy too).
Is this the processor? If so, well somewhat. You would probably spend the same amount of money (after you get the expensive motherboard and cooling setup) if you just went with a core i5 from intel.

Also the processor does NOT impact performance in regards to the resolution. (As long as it's not ancient) The graphics card is the primary factor in determining a proper resolution.

If your question is about a graphics card, well then it must be ancient because I've never heard of it and in that case it would not be good for 1080p or 1440p.

haha its the amd processor.

In that case I would suggest against buying it. You can get a decent i5 for the same price or a little less at microcenter. The i5 will perform much better in games. If you already have it I wouldn't necessarily get rid of it. It's still a competent processor, but it won't deliver the same performance that a modern intel one would.

The 9xxx amd cpu's are not really good for any task compared to the competition.

A 9xxx series cpu is just an 8350 with a factory overclock and often a water cooler.

You can achieve a cooler/less power drawing OC with the 8350 and a good 990 chipset board.

The i5 will perform better at single thread and up to 4 thread tasks like generic multitasking and most games, even at only 3.2-3.5 ghz
The xeon e3 1231 will perform better at 8 core/thread tasks like video rendering, vms, 3d modeling and some games like bf4 coded to use 8 threads.
Both of those CPUs do not require a $130 motherboard to run well, not to mention they use up to 1/3 the power.

There is actually no place on earth for those CPUs, considering that you need an expensive motherboard and liquid cooling, going for a 4790k will be cheaper, and it will perform much better. For gaming you dont need to spend that much, a $200 i5 like the 4590/4460 are excellent choices.
