I'm considering a new PC build to replace my aging i7-3770k.

I see Microcenter has the i9-9900k for $300 USD and the Asus Prime Z390-A for $175
The i7-10700k is about $20 cheaper, but the Asus Prime Z590-A is $105 more than the z390

So, I'm torn between the i9-9900k / Z390 for $475, or the i7-10700k / Z590 for $560.

What do you think? Should I spend the extra $85 on the more modern CPU/Chipset?

I will be re-using my EVGA 1660ti

My i7-3770k does most of what I need it to do, but I would like to see a performance boost in video encoding in Wondershare Filmora

Do you really want to jump into the latest offered by Intel? I think you could get a reasonably priced build with AMD's Ryzen platform. You will also need to factor in a new PSU since a 10 year old PSU by now is not adequate for concurrent hardware and to add, it might not even be able to deliver the right amount of power after all these years of(ab)use.
