Technically, yes. In reality, that cpu is strong enough to break a 970 motherboard since 970 mobos aren't known for good voltage regulation, with a few exceptional outliers proving the rule (Gigabyte 970a-UD3p).

If you haven't bought that cpu yet, DON'T. Wait for Zen or go Intel, Piledriver simply isn't worth the money for brand-new builds anymore.

If you can't wait for Zen, then go Intel. AMD simply isn't good enough anymore to warrant spending money on it. Hopefully that will change with Zen, but until January Intel is the only cpu brand worth putting money into.

Agree with EchohcE, the current AMD lineup is not worth it for a few reasons, it's a dead platform, limited upgrade possibilities down the road, not as good as the current Intel lineup. Go with an Intel build, someone should be able to put together a build for you if you'd like.

Very good thanks! Its just that its 1211€ in euros (looked the same parts in finland(1070 is 550€ here)) so gonna ask for the sellers if i should get AMD FX 8k or just build intel. AMD is beacuse i have motherboard on my running pc thats in am3+ socket and motherboards (especially intel) are f*cking expensive here. Imma ask tyhe shopkeeper about that thing about FX 8k and if not, just go intel...
