Is the asrock ab350 pro4 compatible with a8 9600 apu straight out of the box?

I've recently built a new computer using an ab350 pro4 motherboard with an a8 9600 apu and I can't get past the asrock splash screen. It just freezes once it reaches that screen, and won't let me hit f2 or delete to enter bios or anything else. I've separately tested every other hardware component of the build (except for the motherboard) with another computer to ensure they work, which they all do. So i've narrowed it down to the motherboard being the issue.

I look online and it says the two are compatible, but I just can't get them to work. I bought a replacement of the same motherboard and the same issue occurs. Did I get two DOA boards or is there something else I should look into?

ASRock AB350 Pro4 CPU Support List

According to the CPU Support List, that processor should be supported right out of the box (Compatible since All). I'd contact ASRock, directly, and see what the deal is.

Could be overheating. I hope you're not trying to run the pc without cpu cooler?

I'm using the stock cooler. The computer freezes almost directly after turning on. Can overheating occur in such a small time frame?

I've also placed the cpu and cooler into a different pc to test, and it works fine on a different motherboard

Could be ram compatibility issue.
Put in only one ram module and reset BIOS with onboard jumper.
