I am going to be assembling a gaming pc but i would like to know what would be a good graphics card to go with it. Some parts i already have since a friend of mine is giving them to me.

He has told me has
the asus sabertooth x58
1tb of memory
24 gb of RAM
a standard desktop case

Not sure on what CPU he has but i will update on that. If there is anything else you think i should add on let me know.(Not sure on the budget for the GPU but something that'll be worth it)

a good CPU for that platform would be a i7 970 or anything above. an i7 970 the bare minimum id go for for that socket, its a really decent CPU. the list of all the best GPU's for that system would be these: GTX 970/GTX 980/GTX 780Ti/GTX 780 6GB/R9 290/R9 290X/R9 390 8GB/R9 390X 8GB/R9 Fury/R9 Fury X/GTX 1060 (6GB)/RX 480 8GB. it should run pretty well with any of these GPU's. its a fairly decent CPU if you get an i7 970 or above. its got 6c 12t so it should be pretty good outside gaming too. and the i7 970 supports overclocking. so getting an i7 980x would be a bit pointless. also, what power supply will you use? id recommend somewhere around 600-700w if you go with that system. depending on what GPU you get.
