I'm slightly interested in this monitor, it looks quite good but I think it's relatively new or something as I can't seem to find many reviews...

I will be using it for gaming on a PS4 and I'd like a good picture but also a good enough gaming experience with very little (hopefully no) ghosting or other problems with gameplay.

Has anyone used this monitor before or know if it is any good? Thanks :)

I've no experience whatsoever with that ASUS, but if You want low input lag, I'd go for iiyama ProLite XB2483HSU, or Samsung S24D590PL.

Also You could try TN, it has sucky colors, but input lag and response of pixels is immense, iiyama ProLite GE2488HS.

Wait a sec, what panels are those 2 monitors? I didn't really want to go with a TN panel due to the bad colours, I want a nice looking display.

EDIT: Just checked, the Samsung looks like it has PLS panels and a 5ms response time and the iiyama a 4ms response time with no obvious sign of what panel it is... How different are the separate input lag times between the Asus and the Samsung & iiyama?

The last one is TN, as I wrote, the first one is iPS [S, or P] and second one is PLS [plane to line switching] which is like, superior to AH-iPS in it's technology. [AH-iPS - advanced high performance in plane switching is top of the class of iPS and PLS goes above.]

And since I never had that Asus at home, or something, I don't know. I gave You two models, that input lag is immense. And iiYama is AMVA+, not iPS. Well, it combines the best of TN and iPS.

iiYama supports 3 levels of overdrive, where it acts like "gedmigod" in games, at third level. It slightly shortens the life-span of the LCD, but it delivers incredibly low response rate of pixels.

Is the Samsung LS24D590 the same as the Samsung S24D590PL? As the LS is available in PC World, and there's one near me that I could go to. Surely they are the same, they look the same and one just has L in front of the other with PL at the end... Just confusing...

Well I actually really do like the look of that Samsung one, I think that was one that I was interested in before. I've always trusted Samsung as a company so would happily buy one of their products. Any downsides with buying that one?

Well for some reason I'm personally slightly preferring the Samsung one, possibly because I trust the brand more. Why would you choose the iiyama over it?

Wait, You trust Samsung more than iiYama? You trust more the piece of sh*t producing everything that exists from microwaves, via toothbrushes to memories, literally and has massive error and fault ratios than iiYama, which is one of the best LCD brands in the whole world? [Eizo, NEC, Dell, iiYama, HP]. Well, I haven't seen that one coming. But as I said, if You trust Samsung more, get Samsung. iiYama is different technology. AMVA+ is a hybrid, between TN and iPS, with superior black levels and depths, and weaker colors, but superior latency and input lag possibilities. PLS practically has no downsides, besides it's housed by Samsung, it's their proprietary technology. If iiYama had PLS technology from Samsung, it'd be practically one of the best LCD panels out there.

Well I've just done some research and it seems that the Samsung fits my needs in a monitor a bit better too, so just happens to be almost perfect for what I'm looking for. When I said above that I trusted Samsung as a brand more, I meant it as that I'd known more about them as I'd only really heard on iiYama when looking for monitors recently.

Tis okay. And yes, PLS is truly a masterpiece. Samsung only screwed up, because they were starting to create high-end PLS LCD panels, and stopped, and they use PLS tech. for their entry LCDs, which is a shame. With good electronics, and technology like Eizos DUE, or w-led, rgb-led backlightning, the PLS could be the pinnacle on the market of LCD pannels. For some reasons they want to hold back, which is totally incomprehensible for me, but well, that's Samsung.

Actually Samsung has know-how and resources to create the best TV, and best cellphone, and best SSD drive and best LCD panel, they just don't. Because "fu*k You customer, that's why." That's in general why I'm all pissed about Samsung. They have all the potential, they just don't want to unleash it. They want to feed people with half-assed incomplete products.

Sounds irritating, yeah xD

Well thanks for all your help, looks like I'll go with the Samsung one then, but in the future I'll really consider iiYama monitors as they look awesome
