Thinking of getting this monitor but since its been around for almost 2 years now is it still a good monitor for gaming compared to any new ones?

Depends on what kind of gaming. For competitive call of duty it's definitely still a great monitor . In fact professional gamer OpTic Scumpii just bought it like two weeks ago!
