I am getting a fx 6300 with a 7770 ghz and i was originally going to get an Athlon 2 x4 750k with an msi fm2 a7ma e35 board but i wanted to know what one would be the better choice. The biostar with the 6300 or the msi with an atlon 2 x4 750k.
Thanks! PS: The gpu will be the same no matter what board or cpu i get and my budget is very very tight.

Solution
Depends really on what you are wanting to get out of your build and what you will be using your system for.. I guess light gaming with hopes to upgrade in the future. Go with the 6300 , hands down.. you get the l3 cache which gives you the edge even without the extra two cores. Make sure to check the manufactures websites for the actual specs though.. Amazon, , Newegg can be deceiving. If you want to stay relevant go with AMD's current flagship gaming cpu. The only pro I can see with downgrading to the Athlon (why not the 4130? its not really a vishera if your worried about that) is at that price you can afford to upgrade your ram to a nice matched kit or something like that.

Ok thanks would you reccomend the 4130 or athlon 750k? Im not going to overclock.

Hard to say. I have 4130 and I love it but all the reviews say that it runs hotter and is less power efficient than the vishera line of CPU's I think in the long run you will be happier and better served with fx 6300 if you can afford the extra 20 bucks.. If you haven't already looked check out:

In the end I think it comes down to what price point your trying to keep it at and what exactly you want to do with your new computer.. If you don't rip or edit huge video files or run massive applications you wont need those extra cores for another year or so. a matched kit of ram on four cores will still smoke any single thread application so In my case I went with the l3 cache on the FX series CPUs .. Im not sure if theres a " Best Answer " without knowing what your wanting to do with your new computer. Some people will tell you what you they did with their money and some people will tell you what they would do with your money lol but in the end I recommend this.

If you want a gaming rig you can upgrade later on go with the FX / am3+ cpu/motherboard
If you don't need the extra cores on the 6300 spend the money you save on a better graphics card or ram
If you don't have any extra money you can sacrifice a core , go with the Athlon II X3 ( which there is a 25% chance you get a unlockable stable 4th core Phenom II)

hope I've been able to help. BTW I picked the fx 4130 (95$) with the ECS M960-M3 (45$) for my budget gaming rig.

hope this has helped you and not confused you.

Yeah im mostly looking to game on it Thanks for the feedback! I want to play triple A tiltles like the battlefields! Thanks

Oh and can you give me a link to that motherboard i cant seem to find it anywhere.

Solution
Is that mobo any good because it looks a little old or is it really good for its price? Just looks kinda iffy to me. Thanks though!

mine worked fine. I was just recommending it because its lowest priced FX series supported motherboard. I installed all the drivers on win7 and it seems to work just fine.. it doesn't have all the extra slots for SLI / Crossfire but its a very capable budget motherboard. As for it being old I haven't noticed any drawbacks.. It came with a BIOS from 12/4/12. Yah there is no USB 3.0 or SATA 6g support but that's about all I would say against it. Go with the a motherboard your comfortable. I personally knew that motherboard to work with my CPU so it was just a bonus that it was cheap.

ok thanks i will probably get that mobo!
