[SOLVED] Is the chipset on my Gigabyte x570i too hot?

Solution
My statement is that the Chipset temperature under the dedicated Chipset heading is the internal temperature of the chip. The other value under the mainboard heading comes from a sensor placed close to the chip, hence it always reports a lower value which doesn't reflect the real internal temperature.

just an explanation why 2 sensors show different values for same thing.

it should only get to about 80 max in gaming

ambient temps effect it too. mines about 10c warmer in summer.

What is your full system specs? Please include case and fan set up. I use the x570 i aorus pro wifi and the although the chipset gets pretty warm,it's never reached that hot,(late 70's.)
Sure thing!
x570i Aorus Pro Wifi
Ryzen 7 5800x
Arctic Freezer II 240 AIO (fans set up as exhaust)
Gigabyte 3070 Arous Master
Just RMA'd some 32 GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 ram because my computer was crashing.
Running 16 GB's of Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 (not crashing anymore)
EVGA SFF powersupply 750 if I'm remembering correctly.
LianLi O11 Mini with 6 intake fans, (4 Arctic P12's, 2 Noctuas NF-A12)
Not sure if the storage is important but 2 WD SN750 m.2's and 2 Samsung sata 3 SSD's.
EDIT: not running an over clock on anything.

so this one was caused by a faulty PSU 12v cable - https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/x570-chipset-over-100c-at-idle.3704189/

So the 115 is inside the chip & the 80 is external, pretty toasty, What are rest of temps in PC at same time?
sounds like chip set fan is reducing temps but you getting too high inside.

max temp is meant to be 90 - https://www.hwinfo.com/forum/threads/2-chipset-temps-for-x570-aorus-master.5858/

I can't compare against mine as it appears the more cores you have, the higher idle is. I found one where idle was 65c on a 5800x

it could be a faulty motherboard. Trying to see how to reduce temps apart from leave side of case open :)

whats cooling like in case? 6 intakes? how? 3 in side? where are other 3? sure there isn't enough turbulence in there?
