i was wondering if the CML8GX3M2A1600C9 corsair ram is compatible with the asus sabertooth z77 mobo?

You can check the qualified vendor list on the Asus website, and that RAM has been tested with the board and known to work. However, any RAM that meets the basic requirements of the board should work. For example, if the board specs say it can handle DDR3-1333 RAM, and you buy some DDR3-1333 RAM, then it should work.
