Is the Corsair CX series that bad ?

Hi,
I've seen a lot of new builders choosing the CX series as their PSU. And a lot of people saying that they're terrible. They claim that that the capacitors are crap.

But is that really true ? I read @someone's somewhere signature's link where it states " Why you don't want a crap PSU " , and it states that someone used a " no-name " PSU , and it blew up. But does the Corsair CX600M qualify as one ?

I'm always trying to plan the cheapest build that will impress my friends, and probably help them understand why a desktop PC is better than a Laptop. And Amazon's top selling PSU always makes me wonder. If so many people say it's good, is it worth to spend another $30 for a Seasonic G series ?

Well if you have a below 600 dollar build a cx will cope witg it, but if you have a 780 ti powered by that, its playing with death. It's only suitable for hanfling low end pcs, for high end it's always a better choice to spend more on a psu

Tier One,Tier Two Class A and Class B are recommended. 😉

It's had good reviews.

But its only tier 3 as above.

And we've had lots of problems reported here eg poor voltage control (bad capacitors) and hard to fit motherboard 24 pin connector (bad molding).

The CX Line of PSUs have horrible capacitors that burn up REALLY quick under load, i don't recommend them.

I guess the CX500M should be fine with the i3-4130 paired with the low power GTX 750 ti. Thanks for the replies.

They are still only tier 3. Tiers 1, 2a and 2b are recommended.
