Just looking to see whether the Corsair VS650 would be enough to power this:
CPU: i5 2400 3.1ghz
RAM: 16gb
GPU: sapphire R9 280x toxic edition (going to buy)
MOBO: Asus P8Z68-V LX
Case: corsair carbide spec- 01
And a couple if extra fans

Are you looking at buying the VS650? Or do you already own it?

If you already have it, and you are not overclocking, then you should be ok with that PSU. It's not the best on the market but it's fine for basic use. It just has come cheaper capacitors in its construction. It's not recommended for systems that will be overclocked though.

If you are looking at buying it, don't. There are better units for the same price.

Its always a good rule of thumb to add 100-200W more than you need just for head room for upgrades or OC'ing

Truth? Personally I'd go for a 750W. It will run just fine on 620W but I like to have a lot of extra headroom. I am using a 750W for my gtx770 which is way overkill and most people on the forum will say that's just plain too much. And they are right.

It'll depend on your budget really. If you want to go to 750W and you are in the USA, this is a good deal for the HCG750M

If you upgrade then you will need to upgrade PSUs as well if you go with the 620W. I also get more just incase. I'm running a 1200W for a much bigger system though
